Privacy Policy

THE ACT:

The Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA) gives effect to section 32 of the constitution, which provides that everyone has the right to access information held by the State, as well as information held by another person (or private body) when such privately held information is required to exercise a right or to protect a right.

 

  1. INTRODUCTION:

We respect the privacy of everyone who provides personal information for us to process in accordance with our terms and conditions and for the legitimate purpose for which it was provided.  

 

If you do not agree with these terms, you may chose not to use our website, and not to provide any Personal Information through this site. This Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa. This Policy explains how we obtain use and disclose your personal information, as is required by the Protection of Personal Information Act 2013 (POPI Act). We may share your Personal Information with a technician in order for them to know which site they are required to work on and to contact the customer accordingly.

 

We also have a duty to disclose personal information where required by law and where we believe it is necessary to protect our rights.

We are legally obliged to provide adequate protection for the Personal Information we hold and to stop unauthorized access and use of personal information. We do and will continue to do reviews of our security controls and related processes to ensure that your Personal Information is secure.

Please note that any such access request may be subject to a payment of a legally allowable fee, as laid down in our POPI Act Policy.

 

  1. CORRECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:

You have the right to ask us to update, correct or delete your personal information. We will take all reasonable steps to confirm you identity before making changes to Personal Information we may hold about you. We would appreciate it if you would take the necessary steps to keep your Personal Information accurate and up-to-date by notifying us of any changes we need to be aware of.

 

  1. DEFINITION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION:

In terms of the POPI Act (POIA) section 18 (h) (iv) you have the right to object to the processing of personal information as referred to in section 11(3) of the POPIA
